What are the different types of games?

The world of video games is in full development, and with it the world of esports. Understanding esports therefore also means understanding video games. Each game is different due to its universe, its mechanics & its history. 1 – The MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena)

The MOBA is a mostly online game combining strategy and role-playing, you play as a hero or champion and must evolve with your team while facing an opposing team. (Ex: Dota2, League of Legends).

2 – The FPS (First-person shooter)

FPS are first-person shooters (you play a character but only see the weapon) are weapon games where the player embodies a character wielding weapons of all kinds in order to lead a mission or defeat opponents (e.g. Call of Duty, Halo, Battlefield).

3 – Sports Simulation Games

Their type being quite explicit, you will therefore easily understand that these games are classic sports simulations on digital media, the genre is marked each year by the release of new opuses bringing realism and better playability (Ex: FIFA22, F1 2021, TopSpin).

4 - The MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game)

MMORPGs are online and only online games, in which players find themselves and evolve in a universe where they must collect items alone or in a team that will allow them to improve the skills or equipment related to their character. (e.g. World of Warcraft, New World, Aion).
