Dakar will soon be home to one of the largest eSport centers in Africa. The project, led by the digital expert, Lord Aladji Man, is in the making with the country's authorities.

The Senegalese capital will soon host an arena specially dedicated to video games to boost this sector, which has become a catalyst for the development of the digital economy. According to forecasts, in 2050, more than half of Africa's population will be under the age of 25 and will increase from 1 to 2.4 billion.
Faced with this potential, the "Dakar Vision Digitale" program, powered by the TERANGA eSPORT structure, was launched through the signing of a B2B partnership agreement with the city of Dakar, on the sidelines of the Dubai 2020 World Expo, to the creation of the first permanent professional infrastructure in Africa around video games.

The Program aims to develop the industry and the creative economy, the promotion of the destination of Senegal, the Training of young people which can lead to the field of Open Innovation, Multimedia, Big Data, artificial intelligence, Digital among others.
To be the African capital of eSport and Gaming
According to the project leader and its partners, the objective is to be able to provide Dakar with a state-of-the-art and quality Gaming/eSport infrastructure, equivalent to international standards.
With this program Dakar could aspire to be the African capital of eSport with a national and international calendar of competitions that can respectively accommodate national clubs, other nations and continents via their national and continental teams.

The arena will serve, at the same time, as a training center for eSPORT teams from the 19 municipalities of the city of Dakar, and as the first pro-gaming training structure. It will also serve as an event venue for the entire video game ecosystem in Senegal and Africa.
According to the designers, “the Arena will be a space that can accommodate a large audience, which will have the latest generation technical control room for audiovisual production, all in a very modular configuration. In short, a great opportunity that will be given to eSPORT fans in Dakar as well as to Gaming professionals from Senegal in particular, from Africa in general, to be able to take advantage of a unique space of its kind (the most connected, open to the public) to exercise their passion, around all types of events.”
This major project, which is part of the development of creative cultural industries, will position Senegal at the forefront in Africa in a discipline that brings together more than 600 million African gamers out of more than 2.7 billion in the world. entire.
Video games are polarizing an ever-changing market that generated +$200 billion in 2021, up 23.1% from the previous year, of which Africa's share is only 1.8 %, i.e. nearly 732 billion CFA francs.
